This would be great. If they could make image uploads pending too, it means we can oversee before it going live. In case of misuse.

for adding new content. Or, add a prompt. people think VE isn't working when they click 'add and idea' and nothing happens. (big blue box).

I think we should make the drop down a different colour, i.e. Grey to show it is not a button as users clearly think it is. Creating an idea is a 1 click process already.

For non-admins it would make sense just to have an "Add idea" button, as there is no other content that normal members can add to the group anyway.

Syniad Group search bar always present, rather than having to return to the Dashboard. (Yn yr Archif)

At the moment users have to return the dashboard to search for a new group. However if there was always a group search bar present, the process of searching for new groups will be more streamlined and more enjoyable for users. Perhaps the group search bar could be located in between the Impact blog and the language selection tab at the top of the screen. This location would be easily accessible as well as being hard to miss.

Good idea, as it would improve flow. Perhaps the best way to achieve this without cluttering the nav menu further would be to have a context menu beside the dashboard button where you can reach the key features of the dashboard.

You can. There is a search bar at the top of the carousel with a drop down menu to choose what you want to search.

I agree because 95% of people I try to introduce VocalEyes to go "ARGGHHHhhh too many buttons" and to be fair, we don't ever use half of them (projects & actions are under-developed in my/our optinion - we use Wrike for managing tasks)

Syniad Feedback form to report problems (Yn yr Archif)

I see the feedback form is now linked to this group (very good) but in the past it raised a contact form for reporting problems. Can we have a function that does that now pls? I show people how to report problems or ask for help when they first start using VE and find it really useful as a stopgap until they get going on VE proficiently.

Feedback used to be a section at the bottom of each page. The beauty of this is that the user is already logged in, we already know which page they are talking about, its quick and simple. I suggest clicking FEDDBACK opens this section at the bottom of any page (as was on the beta version)

What we could do is to directly link people to the idea/create page.

If we did link to the idea create page the user would then become a member of that group meaning they would then have lots of other ideas to rate which may be somewhat annoying if they only wanted to report a bug and not be an active member of the VocalEyes User Group

Syniad ideas list (Yn yr Archif)

when a user clicks 'ideas' they ought to be able to see ALL the ideas on the screen. Currently ideas are channelled into different tabs. Put the ideas not rated at the top but upon clicking 'ideas' show all the ideas in a list.

We need to add a LIST view option to the default Carousel. If the LIST view is selected, we can show all the ideas as suggested here with the unrated at the top.

I don't think putting everything on one list would make it very easy to handle, but it might just be a question of preference... We could maybe just have another tab that says "all", or replace the tab with a drop-down with default setting "all", and allow this to be changed and memorized by the system for each user...

This could work with infinite scroll. Once the user gets to the bottom of the unrated ideas, it could load the rated ideas.

Syniad change Replies to comments (Yn yr Archif)

Replies do not come up as comments and do not have indications as to whether they agree, disagree or are neutral towards the initial idea. Maybe once a user has clicked on one the same icon should be used for all of their comments from that point on that relevant idea.

I quite like the option of a reply as well as a comment. I think it comes down to training and familiarity with VE. Comments are stand alone and have a weighting attached whereas a reply is a response directly to a particular comment. this system is read by real people where comments and replies help inform the debate - but don't make the decision for you.

We're actually having a discussion on if comment "opinion" should be kept at all; I'm of the opinion it should be removed as it can be confusing having to basically "rate" 2 times. Will we keep them, I agree, it might be a good idea to add the opinion buttons to replies too.

I think it really imprtant that we let conversation flow. SOme people already feel that VE is too superficial for meaningful debate; that's why i feel the reply function is good. It isn;t, however, compulsory.

The process stands to get too bogged down if there is too much rating required and this could be a barrier to happy use; surely the words of a comment will indicate whether a contributor is 'For', 'Against' or Neutral.

Syniad Have a general My Ideas/My Activity button which shows all the activity from the logged in user. (Yn yr Archif)

If there was a general button which would give the user access to all their contributed ideas, comments etc the user could see their contribution and truly feel part of the actions happening here on Vocaleyes. It would also allow the user to follow up on their contribution and truly see how it is doing.. At the moment users have to go on to each individual group page to see their contribution. If you are a regular visitor who has a range of ideas across a range of fields it may become complicated for the user to keep searching for previous ideas etc. This button could perhaps be located in between your profile name and the logout button in the far right corner for easy access.

Syniad change 'decline to rate' to 'Skip' (Yn yr Archif)

'decline to rate' is an odd title for a buttoni decline to rate coz i'm not interested in the idea, so 'Skip' would me more appropriate. Skip also implies that i may come back to it late. whereas decline to rate sounds so final.

I'm not fully decided but I like this idea. Decline to rate sounds rather harsh, it has the option to give reasons, but seems over done and time consuming. Quick and easy to go through ideas, is VocalEyes strongest point, that idea should carry through.

Syniad Ability to change font size whilst viewing an idea (Yn yr Archif)

Sometimes when im reading an idea which has a lot of text in it, i lose track of where i am.

If we have a tool bar that could be toggled on/off, which could change the style of an idea to a range of different CSS, then users could set the idea to how they prefer to see it.

maybe thats a bit ambitious, so for now I suggest 2 buttons "A+" & "A-" which will change the font size
