Wildflower meadow on Bernice Terrace rear aspect
The area of rough land directly behind the properties on Bernice Terrace is unsuitable to use as garden space due to its slope and need for drainage etc.
however it would be ideal for clearance and wildflower planting . This would improve the outlook from the rear of the homes and would also reduce maintenance costs at the area would only need to be mowed twice a year.

Bernice Terrace Communal Seating and planting
In order to increase the attractiveness of the view from the houses on Bernice Terrace the residents wish for the ares between their parking spaces to be fitted with some communal seating, some planters and perhaps an area that can be used for growing some veg and herbs.

Example of Bristol Project from YCYC in 2020
**This is an example of a project that secured £10,000 of funding in the first round of Your Community Your Choice after being submitted by a Sovereign resident living at Ashley Court in Bristol. We hope this will give you an idea of what you could do in your community this year.**

The project at Ashley Court in Bristol transformed the current washing line courtyard into a recreational area consisting of green space and an area to play.

We worked with the resident, our housing and property teams, and our contractor Jeff Way to look at ways in which we could best achieve this and get quotes for the works, including as many of the comments from other residents as possible.

Jeff Way were contracted to install a static table tennis table, raised planters, colourful recylced plastic picnic tables and benches as well as to create a small community orchard on an overgrown patch of green space.

**The image is a painting that was created by Ashley Court resident to envision what the space could look like. Watch this space for more photographs to show what the space looks like once the project has been completed!**
