Youth Voice in Action has arrived in West Cross.

VocalEyes have gained grant funding from the Community Foundation Wales to create a way for young people in the community to have their say on what facilities and amenities they want and need during our various stages of a "new normal" and beyond.

There is a whole topic dedicated to Ideas for Youth Voice in Action in the West Cross community group where young people can suggest ideas and rate ones already added. The platform will prioritise the ideas based on the average rating and the number of people engaging with the idea.

We also hope that some young people will feel so empowered by this project they will sign up to become Community or Climate Action Influencers, spreading the word and helping take ideas into actions.

Select the System Types to assign:

Conversation Cafe
Young People are interested in a wide range of topics. We could set up a Conversation Cafe for young people to have the opportunity to learn about different topics that interest them. For example Environmental or Political topics.

The young people would decide what they want to know more about and the Cafes would be attended by an expert in the area who would be able to answer questions and have a lively discussion in a relaxed environment.

Nature Reserve
The Common Land at Chestnut Avenue should be protected as a Nature Reserve as it is a Site of Importance for Nature Conservation. It could provide excellent learning opportunities for local schools and community groups as well as protecting this important green space for it's own merit.

Improved road signage on the Gower commons
The dilapidated and missing signage at the entrances to the Gower commons needs to be replaced urgently!
The existing signage was funded and installed by the Gower Commons initiative in circa 1998 and are now badly in need of replacement.
New signs will warn drivers of free roaming livestock and Animals crossing the roads.
They will beed to be placed near each Cattlegrid on Fairwood, Pengwern and Cefn Bryn where possible.
Hopefully this will raise awareness of the animals, slow traffic and reduce animal deaths.
There have been 9 animal deaths since the beginning of December 2019 already!
Please vote for this initiative and help make the Gower roads safer for everyone.

Scrap Store
It would be a good idea if Swansea had a scrap store similar to the old play resource centre but open to everyone to use. It would reduce waste going to landfill and provide an affordable supply of materials for arts, crafts, garden projects etc for those who need them as an a more environmentally friendly option than buying new.
