Idea
Butterfly & Bee Garden (duplicate)
(considering)
()
A wild, colourful space for both pollinators and residents to enjoy.
A third of British pollinators are in decline today, and the Royal Horticulture Society says "if action is not taken, pollinator declines will have serious implications for biodiversity, for food production and the ornamental garden." Bristol has made substantial efforts to sustain bee populations over the past decade, but there's still more we can do to help pollinators thrive.
This peaceful, low-maintenance urban pollinator garden would serve as a safe space for insects to feed, nest, breed, and hatch. It will be a beautiful and calming space for residents to immerse themselves in nature.
It will include:
* A mini meadow of brightly coloured native flowers that bloom continuously from spring through autumn to provide food and habitat for insects in all active seasons
* Shaded areas
* Small pond with water feature to improve water quality and create relaxing atmosphere
* Bee "hotels" or a deadwood habitat
* Sections of plants with hollow stems for nesting
* Benches, picnic tables, or permanent hammocks for hanging out
* Small community "library" box for exchanging books

It's my suggestion so maybe I'm biased but there is SO much knowledge in our communities which we are letting slip away.

Hi I have not long joined Vocal eyes re pledging to support something two weeks ago. I thought this was a new platform and can see this item was done in 2015. Im a bit confused. Bristol West Libraries' has many friends of library Groups of which Im currently a member of Friends of St. Paul's Library. There is also a Library campaign website with a list of friends groups UK wide and Libraries unlimited which has fantastic reports on the evidenced based reports of the essential value and place of the library this is also supported by the current BCC Libraries strategy produced last year.

A good idea but raises some questions: who would pay for the membership? Council/College/NHS? Would it be at any gym anywhere or only a selected few?

i would suggest that there are many ways that you can increase your exercise rate during the day by making small changes such as using stairs rather than lifts which may have more of an impact on the longer term and not involve money

I think this may be a good idea but not up to age 25. What about teens? But yes, who would pay..?
