I'd love to see VE be more interactive with the admins. For example, if a certain number of ideas have been rated by a certain number of people and at a certain level of rating, over a certain period of time, this would cause a notification to be sent to the VE editor and the group admin team that they need to assign actions, write a blog etc. The page might change colour going yellow then red to MAKE them DO SOMETHING!

That might help groups keep on top of their admin tasks. Perhaps also a text message telling VE to call them up and get it sorted :-)

Enable Anonymous Surveys (by URL)
I use a private group for our organisation. I want to do a member and/or supporter anonymous survey. I'll provide a link in our website, and sent to folks by email.

The problem is, I find it is hard to get users to Register on VE. Maybe a solution could be to offer register with another account (e.g. facebook, gmail, linked in etc). Bulk load email's becomes difficult with data protection; folk are sensitive about sharing names, emails and post codes externally.

So my idea is enable a "Topic" in a "Private Group" set to "be accessible by URL", similar to the way google forms does this.

Trying to stop duplicate posts is quite difficult to do, by IP or cookie is unreliable. So I don't really care if people submit more that one; they tend to be easy to spot.

Maybe another way is to create a widget for "VE Private Groups", which you can place in your members website (in our case it's drupal based) or our public website (Mod-X based) which uses the ve-group-admin or other "special account" to login to VE in the background, but post the result as anonymous?

Rate and debate directly from daily emails received
Allow users to rate and debate ideas in groups they are registered to from the daily e-mails in order to increase the interaction hit rate throughout the registered users. This would allow people to contribute without the need to sign in to the internet.

Create another outcome option
Sometimes an idea isn't rated high and the admin takes the decision to report that the idea won't be turned into an action due to lack of buy-in. This doesn't really fit into the 'learning outcome' option - would be good to have another option of 'no further action' with the description - 'this idea was rated low in our community and is not being progressed to action at this time.' or something like that.
Organisations want as many tangible outcomes as possible, but with an idea with no buy-in there is no desire for it. This isn't currently reflected in the options. As I understand it, a learning outcome is more about saying 'no because'.... - there is something that  people need to understand about why the idea isn't viable'.
The 'no further action' option would perhaps indicate more clearly that the idea wasn't going to happen because people didn't rate it highly.
