I don't think that the 5 star rating is needed. It's just duplicating the voting bit underneath the comment. Our users think that the 5 star rating is the voting. It would be easier to just have the 3 options- for, neutral and against. Or just for and against. People shouldn't have to add a comment to vote.

Aren't Topics polls? (eg. Topic = What's your favourite pizza topping? Ideas = options: Cheese, olives, mushrooms...) the winner/s of the poll are the options (ideas) with most votes...

I'd like it to be a pop up, but as I always say, not roadblock anyone. It's really important to allow people to use this tool the way THEY want. But with clear guidance (which they can override)

It could be a question like "What are the opening hours of the library?" or "Where is a safe place to leave my bike?" or "Can I bring my dog to work?" Anything that other people in the group might be able to answer.

Can you give an example question that members could ask? Did you mean about the usage of VE? Who would ask those questions and where? Members of other groups in the VE Support (let's say) group?

Enable Admin to leave a comment on a user request, so that if an Admin has requested information from the applicant (e.g. proof of membership or customer account etc), they can advise the other Admins that they have made a request, and don't need to ask the user again.

Like Facebook it makes sense to be able to set the visibility of comments, so having a default option of public with other options (such as Admins) would work. The visibility would need to be changeable though, either by the comment creator or Admins.
