Idea reviewed Tangible Outcome
Idea: No need for Submit Comment Button (archived) av. rating: 4.4 rated by: 16 declined by: 0

posted on 12 Jun 2017

We pushed the newest version (MS53) live yesterday late evening, and here are the most notable changes: - Comment Submit button be gone! Your submit will now immediately be submitted once you click an opinion button. - The idea list has a new Filters & Sort options that update the list immediately once an option is selected / clicked. - The My Groups dropdown that will show once you click the name of your group now has a feature to search the name of the groups you're connected with. - Group name will be frozen on top when scrolling longer lists, so you always know where you are. - All links (URL's) you add to any content type will automatically "linkify" (become clickable links). ... and many-many more other tweaks and fixes... For admins: - Detailed Idea Report has arrived! Check it out in Stats & Reports under Idea Reports. It makes use of the new Filters & Sort options in the ideas view. - Ever wanted to see all the activity of one user? Now you can. Click on the name of any user under the admin pages, and you will be redirected automatically to a page that will show you everything related to that one user. - The All Content page is now removed as all there was here was already available on the other content pages. - Map: a map of raters' location can now be seen underneath the idea (click the Map tab). For now this is an admin-only function.
Be able to delete ideas or topics
It would be better if we could delete an idea or topic. Instead of making everything inactive or archived. Users still see these when we want them removed completely. Sometimes we need to tidy up the ideas due to duplicates but can't. When the excel exports all the empty archived ideas and topics gets added so there's a lot of blank sheets in the excel workbook. So we need to tidy up the Excel file too.

It's a great idea and has been well needed for many moons. We hope to develop this in the next milestone.

Idea: Show a 'status' for ideas av. rating: 5.0 rated by: 6 declined by: 0
Ideas can be edited by the person who suggested them edited for 20 mins currently. The issue is if an idea gains a lot of rating and comments and then someone changes the emphasis of the idea by editing it then you have false data. Discuss!

Idea: Allow edits (or at least additional notes) to Ideas, once submitted (archived) av. rating: 4.0 rated by: 2 declined by: 1
Comments are currently editable for 20 mins to give users time to amend any quick typos. The reason users cannot edit at any time is because comments will (in the future) have been "supported" in some way and replied to. If you are able to edit the comment, the entire context could be changed invalidating the data. Discuss!

Can you please email a screenshot of this to support@vocaleyes.org If there is a down arrow then there should be other options. It may well be a bug. Thanks

Add clear information about how to create groups and topics
I'm new using VocalEyes. I haven't started using it because someone told me about it, I just get here by accident and I liked the idea of democratizing ideas. But I have no idea how to create my own groups and topics until now. I've tried all the buttons on this page and I also have read all that I could on the website main page and still, I didn't manage to create groups and topics. Just joining public ones and giving ideas to them, like this one...

I don't know if I'm missing something obvious or if it's because of my location that I'm not allowed to do that. Perhaps it's because I have to contact the VocalEyes team on the link for new organizations on the main page and create an account with different privileges. Well, the point is that I don't know how to do it and all that I wrote were just assumptions. If it's not clear to me, it may not be clear to other people as well....

So it'd be nice to have information about this on the site tours. And if I really need to contact someone to get the privilege to create groups, this information could be written explicitly in someplace that everyone who wants to create groups can see.

Allow edits (or at least additional notes) to Ideas, once submitted (archived)
People might have clarifying questions I (ask the idea creator) want to respond to by adding more detail to my idea. I don't like how it's permanently fixed in stone the second I've submitted it.

I get that if people have already voted, you don't want to allow the proposal to be changed, so how about

1. Allow it to be changed until the first vote is cast
and
2. Allow additions to be made (which appear below the original description) to add more detail or correct typos, etc
